Technical Introduction
White aluminum oxide (white fused alumina) is the core functional abrasive filler in the melamine wear-resistant overlay of laminate flooring.
Main Properties
- High hardness (Mohs hardness 9) It is much harder than ordinary dust and sand grains. When embedded in transparent melamine resin, it greatly improves the surface scratch resistance and abrasion resistance of the floor.
- White color & stable performance White powder will not cause color contamination to the floor decorative paper. It has good heat resistance and chemical stability, no discoloration under normal use.
- Particle size selection Different mesh sizes of white aluminum oxide are selected according to the wear rating (AC3/AC4/AC5). Finer powder for smooth surface; coarser grit for higher wear resistance.
Production Principle
During manufacturing, white aluminum oxide powder is uniformly mixed into the liquid melamine resin, then impregnated onto the overlay paper. After hot pressing together with decorative paper and HDF baseboard, the resin cures and locks alumina particles inside, forming the transparent top wear-resistant layer.
