Properties of white fused alumina:
1. High hardness, high strength and good wear resistance
The hardness of white corundum abrasive is higher than that of brown corundum, with Vickers hardness of 2000-2200kg/cm3, Rockwell hardness of 75-76HRC and Mohs hardness of 9.0
2. Strong self-sharpening
The self-sharpening of white corundum is higher than that of brown corundum, which means that the particles are sharp during grinding. As the abrasive falls off, the white corundum abrasive grains will form new cutting edges, and the grinding efficiency of the abrasive products made is higher.
3. The purity of alumina is high and the purity of the material is high.
The main component of white corundum is aluminum oxide (α-Al2O3), and the purity can reach more than 99.2%. The impurities in white corundum are only a small amount of Na2O, SiO2, CaO, K2O, etc., and there is no TiO2, SiO2 and Fe2O3 like in brown corundum. In particular, the content of Na2O, SiO2 and Fe2O3 has a great impact on the production of abrasive products, ceramic products and grinding.
4. Excellent high temperature resistance
The melting point of white corundum is 2250°, the refractory temperature is 1850°, and the refractory performance is excellent. In addition, white corundum has strong corrosion resistance, slag resistance, and chemical stability at high temperatures, and is widely used in smelting furnace refractory materials.
